'Earn while you learn' scheme for students

New Delhi: The Planning Commission is working out an ''earn while you learn' scheme that will help students facing financial constraints continue their higher education. New member of Planning Commission Narendra Jadhav said that under the scheme "work will be provided to students by the institution on demand. They would be paid an honorarium on hourly basis.“ One such scheme is being undertaken by University of Pune at the post-graduate and graduate level on the university campus as well as at colleges.
IBM launches remote mentoring programme

Hyderabad: Endeavouring to bridge the industry-academic divide and bring next generation technologies to university campuses in India, IBM launched the ‘Remote Mentoring Programme’ at International Institute of Information Technology – Hyderabad (IIIT-H) recently. The initiative is targeted at mentoring selected students of reputed institutes on various short term projects revolving around next-generation technologies and IT services delivery. IBM intends to reach out to 25 institutes across India through its remote mentoring programme
